Prerequisites: Laura's Fine Point Level 1-2 course, another Level 1-2 Oxford Fine Point Punch Needle Course, or have familiarity with the proper use of the Fine Oxford Punch Needles (see below).

Using the Oxford fine point punch needle (the “Mini” #14), and wool yarn, learn to turn your piece into a delightful and easy-to-assemble clutch.
Finished dimensions of the assembled bag are approximately 9x6 inches. This course is designed for students who have taken Laura’s beginner level class, or another Oxford fine point beginner punch needle class, but if you come with other previous experience, please reach out to see if this project is a good fit for you.

You will also need:
- #14 Fine Oxford Punch Needle,
- Gripper Frame
- Small sharp pointed scissors or bent scissors, and fabric scissors
- Needle and thread (upholstery thread is best or sewing thread doubled, cream color preferred)
- Sewing pins or fabric clips
- Steam iron, ironing board, and damp cloth
- Fabric Depiller

Laura is a contemporary Renaissance woman living and working on her family’s century-old homestead farm outside Hayward, WI. From fiber arts to creative writing, music to storytelling, she never tires of the magic of transforming ideas into form and overlapping narrative and visual. Laura also loves working with the many and beautiful natural materials from her farm—especially the wool from her sheep. Completing her MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Goddard College in 2011, Laura continues her lifelong passion for learning with engaged, hands-on teaching for small groups to encourage creativity, imagination, and expression. In 2015, Laura added punch needle rug hooking to her repertoire and completed her Oxford Instructor Certification in 2023. Showings include Sauder Village’s Rug Hooking Week, and her piece “Trout and Swallows” is featured in Amy Oxford’s book Punch Needle Rug Hooking.
