McAdoo Rug Patterns and Oxford Patterns
For those who prefer a ready-to-punch experience, our beautiful selection of heritage McAdoo rug hooking patterns and recent Oxford patterns comes pre-drawn on our premium 100% cotton Monk’s Cloth backing.
Each one is hand-drawn clearly onto the backing with meticulous attention to detail. Pattern lines are aligned straight with the weave of the cloth for easier punching and improved finishing.
The Monk’s Cloth contains 13 double threads per inch, the ideal density for secure loops and improved results. The patterns arrive with neatly serged edges to prevent fraying and they include an extra 5 inches (12.7 cm) of backing fabric on each side, giving you ample space to stretch it taut on your frame without blocking the design.
Yarn is not included, allowing you full freedom to choose your favorite colors and fibers and to personalize the project to your own tastes. The McAdoo pattern paperwork includes a color photograph of the finished rug, a yarn worksheet with the original McAdoo yarn colors and amounts, and a clear diagram that shows where each of the original McAdoo yarn colors was used. These make it simple to replicate the sample palette if you wish. A few of our patterns also include Violet Jane color recommendations.
