Neurographic Art is a fun meditative drawing practice that leads to deep mindfulness.
The techniques are easy and will be demonstrated and practiced with paper, coloured markers and watercolor paint so students can create an original design. It uses circles and rounded forms connected by lines to create interesting shapes and one-of-a-kind art pieces which are usually abstract in design. This course is geared for students with punch needle experience who want to experiment with color, shape, loop height and advanced stitches like stem stitch, bead stitch, sculpting, reverse punching and satin stitch. Students need to have intermediate punch needle knowledge with access to a variety of punch needles, both regular and fine.
Project size, color selection, and artistic interpretation will all be discussed fully. This course is for a person looking to stretch, and even push, the boundaries of their creativity using rug punching as his or her medium. You’ll even be treated to a discussion on how to prepare and submit your work into galleries, and the details surrounding that exciting undertaking. It is unlikely the project will be finished within the course time frame but the instructor, Christine, will make sure you are well on your way to creating a unique and meaningful piece worthy of exhibition in a gallery.
