#OxCoPALs Fall Coaster #5 - The Final Wrap Up

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for taking part in this project with us, we received amazing feedback from so many of you. We loved creating these coasters, from designing the yarn packs, to Cotey's designs, to the punching and finishing, and we couldn't be happier with how the whole project turned out.

We saw some beautiful projects being worked on, some which were brought into the school, some emailed, and some tagged on social media. I'm so happy everyone was having fun with these, pulling from your stashes or using the color-ways that we designed. I love seeing everyone's own interpretations of these patterns.

I want to take a moment to show you two really lovely examples that we received for the PALs.
The first was punched by Noela. She punched the Padula pattern using the Neutral color palette. Noela did a really lovely job punching her coasters and whip stitching the edges. I absolutely love the color placement and how she focused on one color as the "main" color for each one. Each coaster has a very distinct look and it's carried through with the color she chose to whip stitch the edges. I love that they they all go together, but have their own identities.

Claudia submitted the second selection. I love that Claudia pulled from her own stash to create her Padula coasters, and even strayed from the established patterns for her final coaster. Using a style of punching from a class taught by Rebecca Martin of Storyteller Wool she created lovely texture in her coaster, tying it to the others with the light blue color that is also in the daisy coaster. Claudia's whole palate is cheerful and fun. Claudia also enlarged her coasters, another fun way to make them unique!

These two examples show that you don't have to stick to what we are doing, you can make these projects your own! It's a fun way to tie them into your decor, or if you are gifting them, to create something that will look lovely in a friend or loved one's house!

The 2023 projects will begin mid-January and the format will look similar to the coasters. They will have curated yarns to go with the patterns and all the projects will be useable! A lot of the feedback we received from people was that they wanted something they could use, not just another flat trivet or wall hanging. We took this to heart as we discussed the coming projects. We hope you like them! I will let everyone know when the next project is going up, if there is anything special you would like to see with the #OxCoPALs, please let me know!

I hope you all have lovely Thanksgivings and holidays! I hope you take a moment to do something extra nice for those around you, you never know who could use a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. In these crazy times the more we can be there for each other the better!

Until Next year!
