Hi Everyone!
I hope that each and every one of you had a lovely holiday and New Year! I honestly cannot believe how fast 2022 flew by! Here is hoping that 2023 slows down a bit and will pass by at a nice leisurely pace. Between hockey, tennis, figure skating, work, school, and life, that doesn't quite seem possible, but I have my fingers crossed!
With all that being said, I am super excited to be introducing the newest OxCoPALs project! We noodled around with a couple of options, even working on testers for another idea, that is actually being turned into a class here at The Oxford Rug Hooking School. Did you hear that? Classes are returning to the school house and we are wicked psyched about it! But, that is a different page, not this one! (I will post a link to the information about upcoming classes below for anyone interested. There are still some openings.)
Winter is a time to be cozy, to hunker down and hibernate through the chilly days and nights. To watch the snow gently drift down and soak up the still and silence. I always used to view it as a time to slow down, when in reality commitments make me have to speed up. That doesn't mean that I don't want to be curled up on the couch in front of the woodstove knitting, punching, or reading. What does one need while they do this aside from a cozy blanket to wrap themselves in? A nice pillow for when one ineveitably falls asleep due to sheer coziness, as well as a place to rest your mug of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate! That's right, this PALs projects is not just one, but TWO! Cotey has worked her magic and designed 3 pillow patterns for this OxCoPALs project as well as a corresponding mug rug pattern to go along with it. For this reason, we have also upped the yarn amount in the limited edition yarn packs, This time around the yarn packs will be available in sets of five 2 ounce balls! That's a lot of yarn!
Are you ready? Patterns are linked below. The pillow pattern digital downloads are $1 with the coaster pattern included. You can also order the pillow patterns traced on monk's cloth or linen for $25. The corresponding mug rug paper pattern will be included with your order. Hopefully that doesn't sound too confusing!
BUT WAIT! We have one more option! The build your own kit! Each of the patterns can be ordered with one of two corresponding yarn packs to make it that much easier for you to get all the supplies you need to punch along with us!
Another thing! This bit is exciting! If you submit pictures of your finished or in progress pillow/mug rugs for our final wrap up, you will be entered into a drawing to win a #10 regular Bamboo Oxford Punch Needle. And everyone who is featured in the final wrap up will receive a free drawstring tool bag.
