Carol Gaylor is a kind, gentle and patient teacher. A self described textile artist, she is know by family and friends as Cass or Cassy. Cass has demonstrated her unique creativity in the sewing of numerous quilts (very often offered as gifts or donations), upholstered furnishings and home fabric decor. In the past four years her passion for creating with textiles has overflowed into the world of rug hooking and her 15 years as a folk artist has added to the art of her textile expression. Cass is a punch needle rug hooker and Oxford Certified Punch Needle Instructor. When her garden gloves come off you will find her in her studio or outdoors among the pines, passing her Oxford Punch Needle from right to left hands as she creates the next rug with love and enthusiasm. Cass is passionate about punch needle rug hooking. She eagerly teaches and shares her knowledge with friends and family and anyone interested in learning more about the heritage craft of punch needle rug hooking. Cass has attended several workshops with such well know artists as Pat Merritt, Amy Oxford, Roslyn Logsdon, Rae Harrell and Rachelle leBlanc. Cass describes rug hooking as a means of creating heritage gifts to pass on to those you love. Her desire is to instill in others, that “we are all creative beings” and with the right encouragement she offers others the opportunity to explore their own talents and feel pride in their own creations.
