Kimiko started making rug hooking pieces in 2014, and in 2017 she fatefully came across Oxford Punch Needle. She was amazed at how easy it was to hold and how comfortable it was to use, and fell in love with making punch needle projects. She traveled to Vermont in 2019 to take private lessons with Amy Oxford. In 2020, she started to teach Oxford punch needle rug hooking in Japan. In the same year, her first book about Oxford punch needles was published, ``Punch needle, fluffy and gentle accessories'', her book is about a collection of her beautiful small rug works. Also the character of Moomin designs and punch needle kits with her original designs is on sale by the publisher. You can purchase it at NIHON VOGUE Corp. Online. She opened a rug making class in 2022, and she is also working passionately as a rug artist. She sells her creations at department stores and craft events throughout Japan. She is a certified Oxford Punch Needle Rug Hooking Instructor and at the same time she is a mother who takes care of two children. She lives in a suburb of Tokyo, where there are beautiful mountains and nature.
