Kazuko has been working with fiber arts such as knitting, weaving, spinning, and chemical and natural dying since she moved to the United States from Japan in 1985. She started traditional rug hooking and punch needle rug hooking in 2004 and became an Oxford Certified Instructor in 2025. Her rugs are featured in the books: Design Like an Artist and The Haunted Rug by Deana David. Kaz devoted 30 years to teaching high school students, is passionate about teaching, and is excited about sharing her knowledge and skills of punch needle rug hooking with others.
