Lolly and Ellen have been interested in fiber arts since they were able to hold a needle as children. Their interests are sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilt making, machine embroidery, Scandinavian loop rug making, traditional rug hooking and punch needle rug hooking. The two have opened a rug hooking studio called Needles in the Nest in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. They offer supplies and beginning and advanced classes in punch needle and loop rug making. They have a line of hand dyed rug yarn and wool fabric called Wool in the Woods. Visit their Etsy store to view all the gorgeous colors. They are members of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists, Peninsula Rug Hookers Guild, and Wine Country Rug Hooking Guild. They enjoy passing on the American tradition of rug hooking and looping so that others can experience the joy of designing and making something beautiful with their own hands.
