Christine Johnson

Free Form Fibres, Ontario

Christine Johnson has been a fibre artist since 1990 and over the years has explored many techniques including rug punching and hooking, felting, community art projects with pom poms, knitting, crochet and embroidery. When she discovered the Oxford Punch Needle in 2019, a new world of artistic endeavour opened up to her. A new Oxford Certified Instructor as of March 2024, she teaches both beginners and more advanced students. Every Tuesday, she hosts Fibre Art Tuesdays at the Treehouse Art Studio and Gallery in Calabogie, Ontario. Her work as a rug artist veers towards the experimental as she is always trying to push the boundaries, seeking new ways of expressing her vision. She lives in the Ottawa Valley on the Madawaska River with her husband, James, and precious dog, Coco. Christine is ready and willing to travel anywhere to teach rug punching and to meet other artists in the field.
