Come Join Us - It's Been Ages!

It's hard to believe that our last reunion was four years ago - we've been trying to make this happen since 2020! The safety of our instructors has always been our main concern and that will continue this year with the requirement that all participants be double vaccinated and boosted and that everyone take a covid test before arriving. Now that that's out of the way let's discuss the fun stuff!

A Wealth of Talent

This year’s inspiring keynote speaker is internationally renowned Canadian Oxford Certified Instructor and McGown teacher Ingrid Hieronimus. Some of you will know Ingrid from her terrific dye books, including "Primary Fusion." In addition to her presentation, Ingrid will lead a workshop on how to use a technique she calls "reversible punch needle hooking" to make a two-sided mat that has a different design on each side (very cool)! We will also have a workshop with rug hooking color expert Nancy Jewett from Fluff and Peachy Bean Designs and a presentation on the history of rug hooking by the former Textile curator at Shelburne Museum, Celia Oliver. An informal rug show will allow us to share all of our talent and won't it be grand to be able to see each other again?

Reunion Workshops

Reversible Punch Needle Hooking
Instructor: Ingrid Hieronimus
Materials Fee: $60. This includes the pattern on monk's cloth and all the wool yarn needed to complete the trivet.

Please pay materials fee directly to Ingrid at the workshop.

In this workshop students will learn how to accomplish reversible punch needle hooking, making a small 8 ½ inch trivet or pot holder. This technique is called the corduroy stitch and is one of the creative stitches used in traditional rug hooking. This technique may be used together with traditional rug hooking and punch needle hooking. Finishing will also be discussed.
